About the Farm
If
you're like us, your dog is a loved and important member of your family.
You've studied how dogs interact, and you recognize their body language
and how they communicate. You understand the importance of
socialization, and you've worked to give your dog lots of training and
opportunities to interact with other dogs and people. Your spirits lift
when you see dogs at an off-leash park, running free and having fun.
So
when you have to leave, you want a better alternative to having your dog
cooped up in a kennel all day while you're away. At the Lucky Dogs Farm
on Whidbey Island, our guests are free to run and play all day long, or
lounge around in the day room and just rest and take it easy. And if
that isn't enough fun and exercise, we even offer special field
trips to the forest or the beach. We can arrange daycare for your
dog on a regular schedule, or on an as-needed basis if you
occasionally need to be away for the day. We also provide boarding as a
service to our
regular daycare customers. Our business is licensed and insured.
The
Farm has been planned to provide a safe and stimulating environment for
your canine friend. Our 2 outside
play areas are each about 1 acre and completely fenced and
separated, allowing us to group dogs according to size and disposition.
Our indoor facility provides a
play/rest area during the day, and sleeping quarters at night.
The
health and safety of your dog is our primary concern. We limit the
number of dogs staying at the Farm so that we can assure personal
attention to each of our important guests. If your dog stays overnight,
we partition the indoor play area into separate 12' by 12' sleep areas
for each dog, and we can provide individual extra large crates for each
dog to give them added peace and security. Your hosts
are available around the clock and certified in pet First Aid by the
American Red Cross. And because this type of setting is not suitable for
every dog, guests are pre-screened so that
only non-aggressive, well socialized, spayed/neutered dogs are accepted
at the Farm.
